David Leffler is a founding member of Leffler Marcus & McCaffrey and is recognized as a creative innovator and problem solver in three areas of law:  
  • Business – forming corporations and limited liability companies, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of business agreements such as business partnership agreements, professional partnership agreements, sales agreements, consulting agreements and employment agreements, advising clients on directors' and officers' liability issues, drafting organizational documents and advising on related operational matters for not-for-profit organizations, and sales and purchases of businesses.

  • Intellectual property – web development agreements, trademark registration, software license agreements, and related matters.   • Real Estate – tenants entering into commercial leases and the purchase and sale of real property, including financing.

Mr. Leffler's clients are primarily small to medium sized companies, including technology firms, women-owned businesses, startups and growing companies, for which he is typically their outside counsel. Mr. Leffler also represents institutional clients on specific matters.

Mr. Leffler sits on the advisory boards of several New York City businesses and was a member of the mayor’s Small Business Advisory Board in New York City for five years, from 1996 to 2001. He served on the board of directors of the American Women’s Economic Development Corporation, a not-for-profit organization that provided training and counseling for entrepreneurial women.

Additionally, Mr. Leffler is a featured speaker at many business forums, including the New York University Conference on Entrepreneurship, Business Ownership and Self-Employment and has lectured at the NYU School of Continuing Education and Professional Studies in Management and Business. He is a columnist and member of the Board of Editors for the American Bar Association magazine GPSolo and is an author of numerous articles about the Internet.

Mr. Leffler is a member of the American Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He received his law degree from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law in 1981. He received his bachelor’s degree from the City College of New York in 1978.
